Julien's Auctions is proud to announce an auction of property from the life and career of Johnny Cash. The auction includes items from Cash's military career, through his life and partnership with June Carter Cash, into his time as a Highwayman with his friends through the end of his career. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will benefit MusiCares.

Highlights in the sale are lyrics personally penned by Cash. The lyrics include Cash's takes on traditional songs, an alternate version of "Don't Take Your Guns To Town," and many songs that have never been recorded.

Three guitars from different points in Cash's career are included in this auction — a vintage 1951 Martin guitar used by Cash in studio that later became the designated tour bus guitar. The second guitar is a Grammer Johnny Cash model used extensively by Cash on The Johnny Cash Show and later inscribed by Cash, "To Richard,/ Play It Pretty/Johnny Cash." The third guitar offered for sale is also a Martin used by Cash in the 1980s and gifted to his friend Bill Miller. This guitar can be seen on the cover of the live album The Survivors. December 3rd and 4th 2010 JULIENS AUCTIONS (Beverly Hills. CA)

Julien's Auctions is proud to present an auction of “Icons & Idols” memorabilia and ephemera on December 3rd and 4th, 2010 in Beverly Hills, California. Never before has such an extensive collection of John Lennon/Beatles memorabilia ever come to public auction. This once in a lifetime auction includes handwritten working lyrics, drawings and clothing from legendary Beatle John Lennon. Lennon's abundant creativity is showcased here in unusual self-portraits inscribed to friends, a collage created for Elton John's 28th birthday drawings and prose that appeared in Lennon's 1965 book A Spaniard in the Works  and a jacket that was almost lost to the world were it not for the keen eye of a Salvation Army driver. The jacket, worn by Lennon in 1966 for a Life magazine photo shoot is emblematic of Lennon's singular fashion sense and style that inspired the cover for the Sergeant Pepper album and echoed in The Beatles appearance for years to come. It is believed to be a military band jacket that was in the possession of Lennon until donated to the Salvation Army in New York. This jacket represents the changing aesthetic of The Beatles and, indeed, a generation of music lovers who mimicked the repurposing of clothing and encouraged new meaning of military emblems to create a position for promoting peace. As a child, rock and roll legend Jimi Hendrix did not own a guitar. Hendrix borrowed a school friend's Sear's Silvertone electric guitar while he played in the band The Velvetones. This vintage guitar has been on display at the Seattle Experience Music Project in an exhibition devoted to Jimi.

Shipments came in from Italy and Miami.
